Miami meet feeler

Hey guys! I know I don't post very much here, and I hope I haven't made you guys feel neglected! Anyway, on to the reason why I'm here: I'm trying to plan out a little picnic/potluck meet around February 17th, 2010. I was thinking of something Valentine's themed, or something along those lines. The park I was thinking of hosting this meet at is a pretty little one near my house called Schenley Park. The address is 2750 S.W. 57 Ave. Miami, FL 33155

It's a very picturesque park, lots of sunshine and trees for shade. The only hiccup is that there are no benches or anything. I was thinking we could bring a bunch of blankets and spread them out on the grass. Of course, if you want to bring chairs, you're more than welcome to. Of course, I'm looking into other parks with benches and the like, just for more convenience. I was planning the meet for 12:30 in the afternoon until maybe 3 or 4:30. So what do you guys think? I'm trying to get some feedback on it to see if there's enough interest to go ahead and actually set aside the date for it. If there's no interest, the meet's not happening. I really hope this garners some interest. If there's sufficient interest, I'll post the meet thread on DoA and post a link here.

I like the idea. It's a good break from the usual Valentine's Morikami meet, there needs to be a change in scene.
I have no problem with sitting on the ground but if it's rainy we may have a problem. Is there anywhere to hide out at?

Unfortunately, no. I'm still looking around at other parks. I'm trying to find one that's easy to find, pretty, and has all the amenities we'd need. I've got two in mind, but I need to call and ask about their rates for renting out pavilions and gazebos.
